The well-known American retail trading platform Robinhood has announced its entry into the Indonesian market and has reached acquisition agreements with local brokerage PT Buana Capital Sekuritas and digital asset trader PT Pedagang Aset Kripto.

Robinhood stated that these two acquisitions still require approval from the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK), with the transaction expected to be completed as early as the first half of 2026.

After the acquisition is completed, Robinhood intends to continue the brokerage services originally offered by Buana Capital and gradually launch its core products in Indonesia, including features such as US stock trading and cryptocurrency transactions. In other words, Indonesian investors can look forward to directly investing in US stocks through Robinhood and accessing a more comprehensive range of digital asset services.

Patrick Chan, head of Robinhood Asia, stated: "Indonesia is a rapidly growing trading market and an excellent place for Robinhood to realize its vision of 'financial inclusivity'. We look forward to bringing Robinhood's innovative services, which have gained customer trust globally, to users in Indonesia."

It is worth noting that the main shareholders of these two companies, Pieter Tanuri, are expected to serve as strategic advisors to Robinhood after the acquisition is completed.

Robinhood (HOOD) stock price fell 3.7% last Friday on the Nasdaq, closing at $131.95. However, the stock has increased by 79.8% over the past six months, indicating that the market holds an optimistic view of Robinhood's business expansion prospects.
