Binance fired an employee for insider publication
The Binance exchange announced that on December 7, one of its employees used confidential information about an upcoming post from the official Binance Futures account on the social network X. Knowing the content of the publication in advance, he likely launched a token with a matching name and design just seconds before the post went live.
Binance acknowledged the employee's actions as an abuse of power, suspended him, and stated its intention to refer the matter to the authorities. The exchange thanked users who reported the violation through the official channel and paid $100,000 in rewards to the first five informants.
Judging by the surviving screenshots, the token in question may be the year of yellow fruit. Its design matched the text from the now-deleted post "The year of the yellow fruit and harvest! Plant wisely. Harvest abundantly".
The token's price skyrocketed by more than 6000% after the post appeared, but then it crashed. Notably, the publication about the Binance investigation coincided with an even stronger token 'pump'.
