According to Chainthink, on December 6th, both LUNC and LUNA saw significant price increases, with the value of LUNC rising by 70.3% in 24 hours to a market value of $342 million, while the value of LUNA increased by 38.2% to reach $131 million. Speculation is being raised that this surge is linked to the potential possibility of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) receiving a pardon. LUNC, previously known as LUNA, is the native token of the Terra Classic blockchain, while LUNA is the native token of the Terra 2.0 blockchain, which was reissued in 2022 after the collapse of the original LUNA. The collapse of LUNA in 2022, which resulted from the depegging of the stablecoin UST, caused the token's price to drop from $80 to nearly zero, wiping out about $450 billion in market value. SBF is suspected of being involved in the manipulation of the collapse. Recently, SBF has been actively speaking out after one of his jail colleagues received a pardon, raising speculation about the possibility of his release.
