$MOODENG For example, when discussing the empty hippos from the first two days, one must wait for the dead cat bounce when shorting altcoins. Recently, there have been coins that have seen a massive short squeeze, and just like with the hippo's funding data, it can be seen that there hasn't been a significant increase in long positions during the pump. Then, the main force slowly hides short positions to lure in more buyers. In such situations, shorting again is risky; otherwise, it's too easy for altcoins to wipe out retail liquidity.
Of course, just because a coin has pumped doesn't mean it can necessarily be shorted. For example, recently I posted about TNSR, which rose to around 0.08 and seemed high, but the data shows that the main force is still gradually increasing long positions, so it definitely can't be shorted. You must first clearly judge whether the altcoin is truly pumping or just a false pump. If the main force is still adding long positions while you go in to add fuel, that's not going to work. Comparing the last TNSR post with the moodeng post from a couple of days ago, you'll notice the differences in data and our choices.
The core idea is, after this high-level consolidation period, observe the funding data to determine whether the main force is dominated by long positions or short positions in this range.
