Everyone must realize a truth early on:

True happiness comes from within and cannot be expected from others.

Many people's suffering stems from handing the power of happiness over to parents, partners, and children, living their lives under the scrutiny of others, constantly seeking love and security from others, only to end up feeling more insecure.

When we start to focus on ourselves, nourish ourselves, and love ourselves, true happiness will emerge.

My kindness to you is not because you are good, but because I am good;

I have been kind to you repeatedly, but you have not appreciated it, showing no response, so naturally, I will no longer be kind to you.

Others may treat me well, but I do not expect others to treat me well, nor will I demand that others treat me well.

Many people do not understand these principles, which leads to disappointment in human nature.

They always think, if I am good to you, you should be good to me, or I expect you to be good to me.

Having high expectations of others and anticipating returns for what you give is the root of pain and resentment.
