Zooko Wilcox, the founder of Zcash (ZEC), has come on board as a strategic advisor for Zcash Cypherpunk Technologies, sending the company’s shares up nearly 40% in Tuesday trading.
Wilcox will steer Cypherpunk in building autonomous digital systems that prioritize privacy and personal freedom. The firm currently holds 233,644 ZEC (~$100 million) and emphasizes user-controlled privacy as a cornerstone for society.
Over the past three months, ZEC has seen notable volatility—rising from around $50 in early September to over $700 in November, before pulling back to nearly $300 in early December and rebounding to around $430.
