【Security Warning】Binance co-founder Yijie’s WeChat account has been hacked, please remain vigilant

On December 10, Binance founder CZ and co-founder Yijie confirmed that Yijie’s personal WeChat account was compromised. According to Yijie, the hacker regained access to the WeChat account using an old phone number that had long been abandoned. As of now, the account has not been successfully retrieved.

The hacker used this account to disseminate false information, and CZ has clearly warned the community: Do not trust or purchase any MEME coins or other assets promoted by the hacker through this account.

This incident once again exposes the vulnerability of traditional Web2 social accounts— even an old phone number that has not been used for many years can become an entry point for account breaches. In the cryptocurrency industry, personal accounts often carry a certain level of community influence, and once hacked, they can easily be used for scams, promoting fraudulent projects, and other malicious activities.

Everyone must:

Enhance account security awareness and regularly check and update binding information;

Protect your digital identity: regularly check your important accounts to ensure the bound phone number is still usable, change what needs to be changed, and close what needs to be closed.

In summary, it’s always wise to be cautious online. Protect your wallet, starting with managing every small account.

Safety first, let’s all pay attention together.

Safety is no small matter, whether it’s Web2 or Web3, protecting your digital identity is always the first line of defense.
