Japan plans to incorporate encrypted assets into the securities regulatory framework
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) released the latest report from the Financial System Council Working Group on Wednesday, proposing a plan to shift the regulatory basis for encrypted assets from the current Payment Services Act (PSA) to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA), which mainly targets investment and securities markets. The report points out that encrypted assets are increasingly becoming investment targets both domestically and internationally, and therefore, user protection needs to be conducted according to financial product standards.
