**US Government Allegedly Holds US$1.6 Million $ZEC from Seized Assets in 2017**

According to an analysis by Arkham Intelligence, the US government is reportedly holding Zcash $ZEC worth US$1.6 million, allegedly from the seizure of the darknet case AlphaBay in 2017. Furthermore, Arkham discovered that the wallet was involved in a transfer to the US Department of Justice.

Moreover, when looking at US ZCash holdings, they currently possess 3,692 ZEC valued at US$1.63 million. However, the US has not commented on Arkham's findings. The wallet, which is believed to belong to the government, has not moved the assets to an official wallet.

Meanwhile, this discovery has led to tensions, as the government holds assets designed to obscure financial trails which regulators want to uncover.
