A major event occurred on December 10 with 1.38 billion LINEA tokens around 6.76% of the total supply entering circulation as part of the consortium ignition allocation. This increased circulating supply adds downward price pressure.
Airdrop Sell Off The claim window for the initial airdrop closed on December 9 and with 92% of the $230 million worth of tokens claimed many recipients appear to have sold their tokens intensifying selling pressure and pushing the price to eight month lows.
Institutional Adoption Despite market volatility institutions have used $LINEA for blockchain settlements highlighting the network utility for enterprise blockchain adoption. SharpLink Gaming also previously announced a plan to deploy $200 million in ETH on Linea.
