🚨 BREAKING: U.S. INTERCEPTS GIANT OIL TANKER NEAR VENEZUELA
President Donald Trump has announced that American forces have captured what he described as “the biggest tanker ever seized” just off Venezuela’s coastline.
The vessel — named Skipper and sailing under the Guyana flag — was carrying an estimated 1.1 million barrels of crude oil. Investigators say it covertly loaded petroleum from both Venezuela and Iran, countries currently facing heavy U.S. sanctions, and was on its way to Cuba.
The operation involved multiple federal agencies, including the FBI, DHS, and the U.S. Coast Guard, with military support from the Pentagon. Video released by Attorney General Pam Bondi shows armed units descending onto the tanker from helicopters.
U.S. officials state the Skipper has been previously sanctioned for participating in a shadow network that traffics oil for sanctioned groups, including entities linked to terrorism.
The move escalates Trump’s pressure campaign against Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, with Trump saying this week that “Maduro won’t last much longer” and hinting that stronger measures remain on the table.
Energy markets moved quickly:
🛢️ WTI crude climbed 1.2% to $58.95
🛢️ Brent crude gained 1.15% to $62.65
Market analysts say the operation could significantly disrupt shipping routes for Venezuelan oil, creating new uncertainty for energy traders.
