As BNB Smart Chain (BSC) scales rapidly with rising transaction volume, improving the EVM’s performance is critical.
The Block Access List (BAL) is one of the latest upgrades moving the network in that direction.
1️⃣ What is BAL?
BAL adds a pre-computed list of all addresses and storage slots each transaction will access. With this information upfront, the EVM no longer needs to discover state access patterns during execution.

🔸Non-conflicting transactions can be processed simultaneously
🔸 Block reorg recovery becomes faster and more predictable
3️⃣ Current implementation on BSC
BAL is live through BEP-592, delivering measurable improvements in CPU usage, throughput and block processing.
The next phase involves deeper evaluation through EIP-7928. More stability refinements are underway to ensure the most robust path forward.
