Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), who is also a pre-candidate for the Presidency, does not limit himself to legislative activities. In addition to his work in Congress, he performs functions as a lawyer and businessman, which, he claims, complement his income. A report from the newspaper O Globo revealed that, outside of politics, the parliamentarian has legally represented former partners of Glaidson Acácio dos Santos, known as the 'Bitcoin Pharaoh.'

According to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), Glaidson would be the leader of a billion-dollar financial pyramid scheme based on cryptocurrencies, operated by GAS Consultoria, which is said to have moved approximately R$ 38 billion over the years.

The journalistic investigation into Flávio gained prominence after he purchased a residence for R$ 5.97 million in Lago Sul, a wealthy area of Brasília, where his law office is registered. Upon taking over the financing of the property — already paid off — the senator declared that his income as a lawyer and businessman totaled the salary of R$ 44,000 received in the Senate, justifying his financial capacity for the business.

A large part of his legal activity occurs in the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), where he has already signed petitions in at least ten cases. The most recent was a habeas corpus in favor of two former partners of Glaidson, who were preventively detained in 2021 during Operation Kriptos. They were indicted by the MPF for crimes against the financial system, fraudulent management, and participation in a criminal organization. In the request, made jointly with lawyer Bruno Gavioli Lopes, the suspension of hearings was also requested until the request for the dismissal of the action was analyzed.

The request, however, was denied. A month after the protocol, Minister Messod Azulay Neto — appointed to the STJ in 2022 by then-President Jair Bolsonaro — rejected the habeas corpus, accepting the MPF's manifestation. For the magistrate, there was no 'manifest illegality or illegal constraint' that justified the termination of the process, which continues against the former partners of the so-called Pharaoh of Bitcoin.

The report also cites other cases in which Flávio acted as a lawyer, such as the defense of four military police officers accused of executing four men in an ambush in Vidigal, South Zone of Rio, in 2020. In addition, the senator is a partner of Bravo Grafeno, a company created in 2024 and dedicated to the sale of helmets and visors.

In response to the newspaper, Flávio Bolsonaro stated that the purchase of the house for R$ 5.97 million was made with resources from his remuneration as a 'parliamentarian, lawyer, and businessman' and emphasized that the real estate transaction was investigated without any irregularities found.
