$BTC Public companies and ETFs now control more than 11% of the circulating bitcoin supply.

Data from BitcoinTreasuries.NET shows that public companies collectively hold over one million BTC valued at $90.2 billion, representing 4.7% of the total supply. Additionally, spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds currently hold an additional 1.49 million BTC, or about 7% of all coins in circulation. These combined holdings indicate that more than 11% of the bitcoin supply is locked in institutional vehicles, reducing the liquidity available for individuals and new businesses adopting bitcoin.

The concentration of ownership within deep-pocketed companies highlights structural changes in Bitcoin's investor base as the asset becomes increasingly financialized. Analysts note that this tightening of supply could amplify volatility but also reinforce the notion of bitcoin's long-term scarcity. With the largest players continuing to accumulate, market observers expect institutional influence to further increase until 2026.
