CFTC Removes Outdated Crypto Regulations

๐Ÿ”ธ The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has removed an outdated set of regulations governing crypto, deeming them obsolete and no longer relevant to the current market.

๐Ÿ”ธ Acting Chair Caroline Pham stated that removing these complex rules will ease the burden on the crypto industry and encourage innovation while keeping the U.S. market safe.

๐Ÿ”ธ By removing the old regulations, the CFTC can begin developing new, more appropriate regulations for digital assets based on recommendations from the President's working group.

๐Ÿ”ธ The CFTC also indicated it may issue new guidance or Q&A sections and is inviting community input through a program called the Crypto Sprint.
