🔥The U.S. Congress is pushing the SEC to allow 401(k) plans to include cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
Several members of the Financial Services Committee have jointly written to the SEC, requesting an update to outdated rules, allowing digital assets to have the same status as other alternative investments. The lawmakers believe that retirement savings should have more diverse options and should not only serve high-net-worth individuals. They also call for collaboration with the Department of Labor to pave the way for cryptocurrencies to enter the pension system, provided compliance and risk control are ensured. If successful, this could mark the first systematic integration of Bitcoin into the U.S. retirement funding framework.
