$BNB Binance enters the global race for tokenized stocks

Binance has quietly added new features to its application programming interface (API) that indicate preparations for launching stock trading. The exchange has clearly not forgotten its ambitions in this area, despite the unsuccessful experience of 2021.

On December 11, the cryptocurrency exchange made changes to the API log, adding three new endpoints. One of them — with a URL including stock/contract — allows users to 'subscribe to the TradFi-Perps agreement.' The other two enable querying the trading session schedule for the upcoming week or obtaining information about the current trading session.

Binance's initiative follows a series of similar efforts by players in both traditional and cryptocurrency finance. Tokenization of stocks is moving from a marginal niche into the spotlight. It was announced today that leading American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is preparing to unveil its tokenized stock and prediction markets project in a few days.$BNB
