While Bitcoin tries to maintain its stability near the $90,000 level after recent declines, Telegram founder Pavel Durov continues to express his deep confidence in the currency's future, asserting that what he bought in Bitcoin in 2013 will one day reach a million dollars each.
🔹 "One of the biggest supporters of Bitcoin since its beginnings"
Durov is known as one of the early believers in Bitcoin and one of the most prominent holders for many years. In a recent interview on the Lex Fridman podcast, he said he has been a "big supporter of Bitcoin since its early days," noting that his faith in the currency has not changed despite all the fluctuations.
He also shows his passion for cryptocurrencies by attempting to integrate Telegram early in this field, especially the GRAM currency project in 2018, which was later halted due to strong objections from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
🔹 The story of his first investment in Bitcoin
Durov recounts that in 2013 he bought thousands of Bitcoin units for "several million dollars," when the price per unit was only around $750.
Durov adds:
"When the price of Bitcoin then dropped to $300 and then $200, some thought I had made a big mistake. But I told them: it doesn't matter... I won't sell. I believe in this technology, and I think this is the true shape of the financial future."
