Interactive Brokers Group Inc. is introducing a new feature that allows individual investors to fund their individual brokerage accounts using stablecoins, marking a step towards integrating traditional and digital finance.

The company is rolling out this capability gradually, starting with a segment of eligible American customers, according to a spokesperson who confirmed the details in an email to Bloomberg on Friday. This new option allows customers to fund their accounts directly from cryptocurrency wallets, eliminating the need to use a bank account.

This initiative was first revealed by Thomas Peterffy, the billionaire chairman of Interactive Brokers, during his presentation at the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. financial services conference on Wednesday.
