SEC Signals Historic Turn for Financial Markets in Blockchain
According to ChainCatcher, the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, stated on platform X that North American financial markets are moving towards a gradual migration to blockchain-based infrastructures. The initiative aims to stimulate innovation and accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies.
As part of this movement, the SEC issued a no-action letter to the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTC), authorizing its participants to carry out direct transfers of tokenized securities to registered wallets of other members. These operations will be officially recognized, recorded, and monitored by the DTC, bringing more transparency, predictability, and efficiency to the market and to investors.
