The simplest business model in the world is:
Find 10,000 people to each give you 20 dollars, which amounts to over 70 million in a year.
The question is, how do you make these 10,000 people pay you 20 dollars without hesitation?
The answer is human nature.
It doesn't necessarily have to be 10,000 people, and the payment doesn't necessarily have to be 20; using the same logic, grasping human nature + new user growth = compound interest.
This model is remarkably similar in a certain track of the cryptocurrency space.
