Today, Interactive Brokers supports deposits in stablecoins. I've seen many people on social media saying that on-chain US stocks are doomed and that no one will use them. This statement completely misunderstands the audience that will trade on-chain US stocks. There are roughly two types of people who trade on-chain US stocks:
The first type is those limited by KYC account openings at US brokerage firms. These individuals can't even open an account with Interactive Brokers.
The second type consists of those with tax considerations.
Both types of people have their own intrinsic needs to use on-chain US stocks. Whether Interactive Brokers supports deposits in stablecoins does not affect the demand for on-chain US stocks.
