It is said that small positions are difficult to trade. Recently, the market has been good, helping fans turn 600 oil into 1000 oil in a practical challenge. Currently, on the 15th day, the account has surpassed 4900+, and the performance is quite good. This of course cannot be separated from the cooperation of the market, and in the process, I also experienced inevitable pullbacks and fluctuations.
After going through practical trading, I have come to realize that the core of trading is often not offense, but rather managing risk and self-restraint.
I strongly recommend everyone to change their mindset and start trying small positions with a long-term view. Frequent openings may seem like capturing opportunities, but in reality, it amplifies "inertia losses"—spreads, transaction fees, emotional decisions, these hidden costs will continue to erode your principal. Many people do not fail to understand the direction, but rather lose to excessive trading. For example, today, I patiently waited and executed a planned trade, and gained 800 oil in profit.
Here are a few of my core trading insights for your reference:
1. Never optimize the entry point, but rigorously optimize the exit point.
Do not pursue a perfect entry as it may lead to hesitation and missing out. The exit determines the final profit and loss, and there must be a clear profit target and stop-loss line, which must be strictly executed.
2. Give time to trading, rather than trading for time.
Do not trade just because "I must make a trade today". Quality opportunities need to be waited for; like a hunter, most of the time is spent observing, and when you act, you must pursue certainty.
3. Filter out noise and embrace the core trend.
90% of market fluctuations are noise. Ignore the minor fluctuations of short-term trades, locate the direction through larger cycles, and find key levels in smaller cycles; capturing a segment of the main trend is sufficient.
Trading is a long-term game with one’s own mentality. Less is more; slow is fast. The real risk lies not in missing out, but in making mistakes. Let's encourage each other and stabilize our rhythm, moving steadily forward.
