🚀🌋Bhutan pledges to invest 10,000 bitcoin to develop a "Mindfulness City" ☕️According to TechFlow, on December 17, Cointelegraph reported that the Kingdom of Bhutan announced it would use 10,000 of its bitcoin reserves (approximately $875 million) to build the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). It is estimated that Bhutan currently holds about 11,286 bitcoins, with a total value exceeding $986 million, making it the fifth largest bitcoin-holding country in the world. This special administrative region, located in southern Bhutan, was launched in 2024, covering about 1,544 square miles (approximately 10% of Bhutan’s territory). It aims to attract enterprises in finance, technology, tourism, and other sectors, create high-value job opportunities, and prevent the outflow of young talent. The project will be constructed in phases over the next 20 years and has already launched the sovereign digital token TER, which is pegged to gold.
