A Reflection on the Alpha Points Reform!!
Yesterday, Alpha began a new points system from THQ,
it can be said that some people are happy while others are worried.
The happy part is that although 30 points were deducted, they actually received around 45-80 dollars in medium rewards,
compared to many times before when a reward was 15-20 dollars, the actual difference is not very large, but the value is higher. (This gained the support of some people)
The worried part is that if 30 points are deducted at once, and the points cannot keep up, everyone will just have to push for higher trading volumes, using higher wear to exchange for more points, which will create a new competitive relationship!! Do you remember when Alpha first came out, everyone was grinding for 256 points and 512 points? Then with each reform, people could only choose to grind for 16,000 or 32,000. The last reform eliminated users with a balance of 100. Will this time eliminate those with 1000?
Additionally, THQ is the first to adopt the new model, so it definitely has a value advantage compared to later airdrops. When everyone becomes accustomed to 30 points, perhaps there will be instances where 30 points are valued at 20-40 dollars.
Every reform of Alpha is not a spur-of-the-moment decision; there needs to be a large amount of data as a basis, such as the quantity of subsequent new Alpha airdrops, the existing Alpha practitioners,
the consumption of user points, the tier of Alpha trading volumes, etc., all need to be considered.
Thinking from the platform's perspective: When the project cannot meet the normal consumption of everyone’s points, it resorts to increasing point consumption to obtain points, using the least number of projects to achieve the goal of point consumption.
When users' points are insufficient, they will naturally push for higher trading volumes, considering how to achieve multiple benefits at once.
As for the users: In the future, it will basically not be possible to receive 60-80 in airdrops with just 15 points, after the points reform, at least 30 points will be needed,
(of course, it does not rule out that occasionally a high-value reward worth hundreds of dollars might appear among the 30 points). When everyone is accustomed to receiving deductions of 30 points, the value of airdrops will naturally decrease. Overall, the future Alpha will only get more competitive, and the larger the financial system, the more beneficial it will be.
