ME News, December 19 (UTC+8), the Polymarket platform recently experienced some downtime due to issues with its underlying blockchain, Polygon, during the same period. Although the official statement has not been released, a Polymarket member posted in Discord regarding this downtime, claiming that the platform will now focus on building its own Layer 2 network to prevent similar interruptions in the future. In fact, some community members revealed that after multiple network issues, Polymarket has decided to prioritize the development of its own L2 as the current top task. Team member Mustafa mentioned this in the official Discord channel to reassure users but did not provide specific plans or timelines. He referred to it as a 'top' task and claimed it would be achieved soon so that the platform could achieve the desired stability and independence. Previously, on the day before, the Polygon Foundation stated that today the Polygon PoS experienced failures affecting some RPC nodes, and all functions of the Polygon PoS have been restored.
