• The Bank of Japan raised interest rates today, Friday, in a historic move towards ending decades of massive monetary support and ultra-easy borrowing costs.

• As widely expected, the bank decided to raise short-term interest rates to 0.75% from 0.5%, with the consensus of the members of the monetary policy committee.
