Ethereum Foundation Plan
On December 21, the Ethereum Foundation clearly stated that it would shift the focus of ecological development from 'pursuing speed' to 'ensuring security', planning to fully implement 128-bit security standards by 2026. The Foundation pointed out that in the past year, zkEVM has made progress in performance, but some solutions rely on unverified mathematical assumptions, posing a risk of on-chain state being fabricated. In the future, security review tools will be provided, requiring zkEVM to achieve a minimum of 128-bit security strength before 2026. The Foundation emphasized that in the long term, attack resistance and credibility are important prerequisites for attracting institutions and high-value applications.
