2. "Privacy with Compliance" (Compliant Privacy)
This is the most critical differentiator:
· Zcash/Monero: Offers full privacy or opt-in privacy. This is good for individuals, but frightening for regulators and institutions because there is no "audit trail".
· DUSK: Offers Selective Privacy with Controlled Auditability.
· Transactions are private by default using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP).
· However, through mechanisms like Selective Disclosure and KYC/AML without revealing data, authorities or legitimate auditors can prove compliance of a transaction without seeing all the details.
· The analogy: Like a vault that is tightly locked, but there is a small window that can only be opened by authorities with a special key to verify its contents without taking everything out of the vault.
