The Nikkei Index experienced a decline from its record highs. According to RTHK, the index initially dropped by as much as 755 points, reaching a low of 53,965 points. It later rebounded above the 54,000 mark, closing at 54,391 points by midday, marking a decrease of 329 points or 0.6%.
