The Deleted Account Service addresses a significant concern for users who have deleted their accounts but still need access to their transactional data for purposes such as tax reporting or personal accounting. Previously, these users had to email the DPO to request their transaction history, a process that could be time-consuming. With the new self-service option, users can now bypass the need for support tickets and waiting periods, streamlining the retrieval of their data.

To use the Deleted Account Service, former users must visit the service portal via the Binance website. They will need to verify their identity by entering the email address or phone number associated with their deleted account. A confirmation code will be sent to them, which they must enter into the portal. Users will then create an 8-digit password to encrypt their data file. Once the report is ready, they will receive a secure download link via email, which requires the password to access the file.

This tool, developed by Binance's Data Protection Office in response to user feedback, automates the workflow of retrieving deleted-account data, providing faster and more convenient access to information. It allows the DPO team to focus on more complex privacy issues and continuous improvements.
