Since July, the amount of ETH on exchanges has decreased by 43%, coinciding with the time when large institutions began to buy in.

2,000 BTC ($179M) in two physical Bitcoin coins thawed after 14 years

Tangible Bitcoin first appeared between 2011-2013 as an educational tool. Each coin contains a piece of paper with a printed private key for the wallet holding the BTC and is sealed with anti-counterfeiting tape.

On-chain data shows that two coins with a face value of 1,000 BTC have just been activated. One was minted in December 2011, when BTC was priced at $3.88, and the other was created in October 2012 when BTC was priced at $11.69.

Despite the significant profit, this move does not mean that 2,000 BTC will be sold off. In July, the owner of one 100 BTC coin shared that they transferred the BTC from the coin to a hardware wallet for easier management and greater security, with no intention of selling.

A new report from FINRA shows that U.S. investors are being more cautious and view crypto as less of an investment opportunity than before.

The percentage of people owning crypto remains at 27% from 2021 to 2024. However, the number of those wanting to buy more or planning to buy for the first time has decreased from 33% to 26%. This reflects an increasing risk-averse mentality.

FINRA noted:
The percentage of people willing to take on high risk has dropped to 8%.

The main reason is economic instability, including interest rates, inflation, and market outlook, causing investors to shift to safer assets. U.S. investors are trending towards being more cautious and less adventurous compared to the boom period of 2021.

After breaking out of the broadening wedge pattern, the price has now broken above the horizontal supply zone, which is acting as support. A successful retest of this breakout level could trigger a bullish rally in the market.

Harvard University's Bitcoin investment is down 14%.

As of September 30, Harvard holds 6,813,612 shares of IBIT (BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF) - nearly three times the 1,906,000 shares it had in June.

Although the average purchase price is not publicly disclosed, the WSJ estimates that with BTC prices down 20% this quarter, if Harvard retains all its IBIT shares, the investment is down approximately 14% (around $40 million).

On paper, this loss is not significant for Harvard, as the university manages the largest endowment fund in the U.S. valued at $57 billion, and its BTC position accounts for less than 1% of total assets.

CHARLES SCHWAB PUSHES UP PLAN FOR 2026 CRYPTO INVESTMENT

Charles Schwab plans to launch Bitcoin and Ethereum spot trading in the first half of 2026 and is also considering launching a stablecoin.

Schwab said many clients want to bring all crypto onto its platform, where it already holds $25 billion in crypto-related ETPs.

Charles Schwab said it is open to acquiring crypto companies if the price is right.

Schwab currently manages about $11.83 trillion in client assets.
