The Indonesian human rights agency criticized the military after 12 civilians were killed in Papua.
On April 20, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) of Indonesia on Monday strongly condemned the military regarding the investigation into the deaths of 12 civilians last week during an operation against rebels in Papua Province.
The military stated that it had no information regarding the deaths, but the state-managed human rights commission said last weekend that 12 people, including women and children, were shot dead during the operation against separatist groups in Central Papua on April 14. Dozens of others sustained serious injuries, it added.
