ALTS vs BTC: The Rotation Cycle Is Still Alive If you zoom out and look at the long-term ALTS vs BTC chart, one thing becomes very clear: this market moves in cycles, not straight lines. Every major crypto cycle has followed a similar structure—Bitcoin leads first, capital consolidates, and then liquidity rotates into altcoins. Historically, when the OTHERS/BTC ratio touches long-term support and starts reversing, it has marked the beginning of strong altcoin expansions. Each cycle shows higher highs on the ratio’s resistance trendline, while higher lows form on support. This compression has repeatedly resulted in explosive moves for alts once momentum flips. Right now, the chart suggests we may be approaching another critical inflection point. Bitcoin dominance remains elevated, but altcoins are sitting near historical support zones. This is typically the phase where patience is tested and sentiment is weakest—right before conditions start shifting. This doesn’t mean altcoins will outperform overnight. Bitcoin strength usually comes first. But once BTC stabilizes and volatility cools, capital tends to search for higher returns, flowing into large-cap alts first and then into mid and small caps. Smart traders watch relative strength, not hype. Timing, structure, and risk management matter far more than chasing pumps. If history rhymes once again, the alts vs BTC story may be closer to a reset than an ending.
