According to ChainCatcher, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson stated that the threat of quantum computing to blockchain is exaggerated and is currently not urgent. The industry knows how to build quantum-resistant systems, but quantum-safe protocols are slow and expensive.

Hoskinson stated that before the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) establishes post-quantum cryptography standards, the industry cannot recklessly adopt algorithms that may be abandoned. He cited DARPA's quantum blockchain program, stating that true quantum pressure is expected to emerge in the 2030s.
