Independent researcher Giancarlo Lelli
broke a 15-bit elliptic curve key
on publicly accessible quantum hardware.
That is 512 TIMES larger than
the previous public demonstration
in September 2025.
Before you panic โ here is the context:
Bitcoin uses 256-bit encryption.
The researcher broke 15-bit.
That gap is still enormous.
Bitcoin is safe TODAY.

Bitcoin developers are already
working on post-quantum solutions.

A new Quantum Safe Bitcoin proposal
was published in April 2026.
The network is preparing.
