Toncoin has come into the spotlight: AlphaTON Capital announced a shelf registration of $420.69 million to expand its token portfolio and support projects in the Telegram ecosystem. This financing move is related to the company's intention to increase its capital, invest in mini-apps, and develop computational infrastructure related to the Telegram Cocoon network.

According to TheBlock's report, AlphaTON stated that registration frees it from SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) rules that previously limited small companies' ability to raise investments through Form S-3. With the new registration, the company can invest in Toncoin, support mini-app projects, and make acquisitions within the Telegram ecosystem.
Funding will also be directed to support AlphaTON's work on the Telegram Cocoon network—a decentralized computing platform where users rent out graphics processors in exchange for Tocoon. The company has already integrated Nvidia B200 graphics processors into the network, creating an additional revenue stream.

Meanwhile, CEO Brittany Kaiser stated that shelf registration will allow the company to quickly respond to new opportunities and expand its role in the digital infrastructure of the Telegram community.

Since September, AlphaTON has been accumulating Toncoin and related digital assets after a private placement of shares worth $36.2 million and obtaining a $35 million loan from BitGo Prime. The company stated it plans to purchase TON tokens worth around $100 million and invest in the mini-app ecosystem.
Additionally, AlphaTON updated the terms of its deal to acquire 60% of the mobile gaming platform GAMEE for $15 million. The company also plans to purchase GMEE and Watcoin tokens on the open market.

It is worth noting that alongside these steps, AlphaTON is preparing to launch a co-branded TON Mastercard in partnership with PagoPay and ALT5 Sigma.

Toncoin has become popular among both users and investors. Telegram mini-apps like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat have attracted millions of players.

Additionally, venture funds including Benchmark, Draper Associates, CoinFund, Sequoia Capital, and SkyBridge have invested over $400 million in Toncoin and related projects. Coinbase Ventures is also reported to be a shareholder.

At its peak market capitalization, Toncoin was in the top ten leaders, reaching $8.25, but has since fallen to $1.80. At the time of writing, the price of Toncoin was $1.58.

Recent steps by AlphaTON, including the growth of treasury obligations and investments in infrastructure, demonstrate an ongoing commitment to strengthening Toncoin's presence in the Telegram ecosystem and creating sustainable revenue sources.
