Elon Musk has now said that SpaceX will soon go public. He also regrets his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

When space journalist Eric Berger published his analysis titled “Here’s why I think SpaceX will go public soon,” Musk replied: “As usual, Eric is right.” Berger is often considered the most credible reporter on SpaceX.

In a podcast interview released on Tuesday with former DOGE spokesperson Katie Miller, Musk said he does not want to be involved with DOGE again. “I think that instead of working with DOGE, I would have worked with my companies,” he said. “And they wouldn’t have burned the cars” — he referred to vandalism at Tesla dealerships during his time in government.

Musk described DOGE as only “a little successful” and “somewhat successful”, which is a modest assessment. He broke with President Trump in June after calling the administration's tax proposal “completely crazy and destructive.”

The confirmed stock market listing and the regret surrounding DOGE show that Musk is now focusing more on his companies again after a tumultuous time in politics.
