YouTube introduces payments in stablecoins for creators from the USA via PayPal

According to ChainCatcher, YouTube has launched a new feature that allows content creators in the USA to receive payments in stablecoins through PayPal. May Zabanekh, head of cryptocurrency at PayPal, confirmed that creators can now choose to receive their earnings in the form of the PayPal stablecoin, PYUSD. This feature is currently available only to users in the United States.

YouTube has been a client of PayPal's payment services, using them to pay freelancers and contractors for large enterprises. At the beginning of the third quarter of this year, PayPal introduced the option for recipients to receive payments in PYUSD, prompting YouTube to offer this choice to its creators.

Zabanekh emphasized that the advantage of this system is that YouTube does not need to directly interact with cryptocurrencies, as PayPal manages the related complexities. This move indicates a growing interest in stablecoins among large tech companies.
