I used to think this was a joke, but today I found out it's true…
A while ago, I came across a post on Xiaohongshu.
A girl said she is a fan of Shiba Inu dogs, and when she transferred pocket money to her husband, she noted it as "Dogecoin."
Not long after, both of them received a call from the bank,
then—two bank cards were directly frozen.
At that moment, my first reaction was:
Isn't this just a common joke on Xiaohongshu?
To attract attention, anything can be made up.
I didn't take it too seriously.
But today I went to check the follow-up,
the official response from China Construction Bank really came out.
To summarize the key points (this is the scariest part)
👇
👉
Transfer notes containing keywords like "Dogecoin / virtual currency / USDT"
👉
Will directly trigger virtual currency risk control
👉
Account is set to "no receipt no payment" status
👉
The bank will require you to provide complete transaction records + a written commitment
👉
Proof: that this transfer "is not related to virtual currency transactions"
👉
Only after passing the review can the account possibly be unblocked
What’s even harsher is—
some staff at the branches explicitly said:
If you can’t prove it’s unrelated to virtual currency, your account might be directly unable to be unblocked and can only be canceled.
Oh my!!!
To be honest, I really felt a chill down my back when I read this.
Brothers, think about it:
If you just happen to know someone's card number
If you want to mess with him,
you can directly transfer him some money, noting it as "Dogecoin"…
doesn't that directly ruin the person's life?
