ChainCatcher news, according to market news, the Florida prosecutor's office has seized approximately 1.5 million dollars in cryptocurrency related to overseas suspect (Chinese citizen Tu Weizhi), with AVAX, DOGE, PEPE, and SOL in the wallet.
The state attorney's office's cyber fraud enforcement department has obtained a court order to seize assets under Tu Weizhi's name. Tu Weizhi is currently charged with money laundering, grand theft, and organized fraud. Florida authorities stated that if Tu Weizhi attempts to enter the United States, he will be arrested. Investigators noted that this seizure operation stemmed from an investigation that began in July 2024 when a resident of Citrus County reported losing 47,421 dollars. This resident transferred money to what appeared to be an online investment project. The investigation ultimately linked the funds to a wallet controlled by Tu Weizhi.
