The Awakening of a Retail Investor in the Crypto Market
Before the Liquidation
"Just following my friend's lead and it will be fine."
30% position, 100x leverage.
Stop-loss? Not a chance.
The stop-loss is the liquidation price,
And the take-profit must double.
When the market is good,
I feel like I’m the chosen one.
With a keystroke, the money should belong to me.
I thought I had found the shortcut to financial freedom.
That night in April
A piece of news about tariffs.
The chart plummeted.
In 2 hours, 15,000 RMB, gone.
My friend suffered worse, 190,000 evaporated in an instant.
The numbers on the screen,
Disappeared quietly and politely.
But inside me,
It felt like being blown up.
At that moment, I truly understood:
Liquidation is not a legend, you won’t get a heads-up when it’s your turn.
After the Liquidation
I began frantically catching up.
Joined the "Master Group",
Learning candlestick patterns, indicators, golden crosses and dead crosses,
Elliott wave theory, structural patterns...
Studying every night, backtesting repeatedly,
Hoping to find that
"Holy Grail of stable profit."
Three to four months later,
I was completely awakened:
👉 There is no Holy Grail in this market.
👉 All techniques are just to
Increase your probability and positioning of guessing right.
What I learned,
Is not a secret to getting rich,
But two words:
Survive.
Now, I only follow these few rules
① Admit losses and run immediately
Don’t fall in love with the market,
And definitely don’t hate losses.
Holding onto positions destroys,
Not just the account, but life as well.
② Always use a stop-loss when opening a position
This is the fuse of your account,
Not a decoration.
③ If there are unrealized gains, immediately adjust the stop-loss to break even
Better to have worked hard for nothing,
Than to lose the principal.
④ Only trade the big trend, not short-term
Only market movements you understand are opportunities,
What you don’t understand are traps.
⑤ Leverage no more than 10x
High leverage is not wings,
It’s a knife you hand to the market yourself.
Lastly, I want to say
The crypto market is not a casino,
But if you enter with a gambler's mentality,
It will treat you like a gambler to be harvested.
Leverage amplifies,
Not your wisdom,
But your greed and fear.
The real "Holy Grail" may not exist.
But the system that allows you to
Survive in this brutal market,
Must be those few
Most basic, most inhumane rules
That you exchange with real money and hard-earned lessons.
