XRP ledger has launched a quantum-resistant testnet called AlphaNet, which utilizes Dilithium-based cryptographic technology aimed at protecting accounts and transactions from future quantum computing threats. This move positions XRPL ahead of Bitcoin and other mainstream blockchains in terms of preparedness for the post-quantum era, but it also introduces larger signature lengths that may affect performance. Although quantum computing is still in its infancy, the successful deployment of this operational infrastructure is expected to shift the development direction of XRP towards security and accelerate its adoption among global institutions.
