How I Saw R$ 2.000 Turn Into Loss in Minutes and Why the Stop Loss Is Sacred?
Due to the short squeeze earlier, I ended up taking a stop loss that I was sure was well positioned. The market made that turn, retraced to previous levels, and an operation that was in profit turned into a loss of approximately R$ 2.000.
Frustration hits, it's natural. Reviewing the charts, the strategy, the timing… it's part of the process.
But here's the MOST IMPORTANT reminder always: KEEP YOUR STOP SET. Always.
No matter how painful it is to see the stop being triggered, it fulfills its primary purpose: protecting your capital. Without it, the loss could have been much worse. The stop is not an enemy; it's your safety plan.
Today was a learning day (sometimes costly, but effective). Tomorrow the market will open again, and we'll have new opportunities. The preserved capital will be there to trade another day.
Keep this in mind: discipline > emotion. Risk management is not optional.
Strong regards and happy trades!
