Ethereum Layer 2 Competition Heats Up
With the surge in transaction volume of Layer 2 projects like Arbitrum and Optimism, Ethereum's scaling solutions are entering a period of explosive growth. ZK-Rollup technology has become the new favorite due to lower gas fees and higher TPS, with the number of ecosystem projects for StarkNet and zkSync doubling in six months. However, the fragmentation of Layer 2 has also led to dispersed liquidity, and security issues with cross-chain bridges are frequent. Vitalik Buterin proposed the concept of 'layered governance' in an attempt to coordinate the multi-chain ecosystem, but there is still controversy within the community regarding the 'Rollup-centric' roadmap.
