Silk Road Wallets Inactive for 10 Years Conducted Bitcoin Transfer
The Silk Road-connected wallet with the random number #Bitcoin , which has been inactive for years, became active again and sent $3.14 million worth of Bitcoin to an unknown address. According to Arkham data, these wallets still hold Bitcoin worth $41.3 million.
Transfer from 312 Wallets to an Unknown Address
According to Arkham Intelligence data, about 312 wallets linked to the now-defunct dark web market Silk Road sent a total of $3.14 million worth of $BTC to an unknown address. Most of these wallets had not moved in over 10 years.
How Much Bitcoin is Held in the Wallets?
According to Arkham’s data, as of today, Silk Road-connected wallets still hold Bitcoin worth $41.3 million. In January, Coinbase Director Conor Grogan announced that wallets associated with Silk Road’s founder Ross Ulbricht were found to hold approximately $47 million worth of BTC.
Although Ulbricht’s wallets have been tracked by on-chain data providers from time to time, there had not been any movement for a long time.
Trump’s Pardon for Ulbricht Sparked Controversy
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump, with the random number #ABD , signed a full and unconditional pardon for Ulbricht, causing a big stir. Ulbricht had received multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole for founding Silk Road.
While Silk Road is known for facilitating the sale of drugs and other illegal products over the years, it also played a significant role in the early adoption of Bitcoin. Since most transactions on the platform were conducted with BTC, it was known that Silk Road played an important role in the popularization of cryptocurrency.
