After 8 years in the cryptocurrency world, the first skill I learned is—shut up

In April 2023, ETH broke through $2000, and my neighbor asked me on WeChat: "Xiao Chen, I heard you play with coins? Can I invest 50,000?"

I stupidly replied, "Sure," and as a result, she kept asking me 50% of the time: "Are you selling?" I told her to take another look, and she sent me "anxious screenshots" three times a day.

I couldn't stand it anymore and said, "Sell it," and she placed an order instantly. Later, ETH doubled again, she blocked me, and she still owes me a hot pot meal that she hasn't treated me to yet.

I entered the circle in 2018, and after seven years, my skills haven't improved much, but I have fewer friends. I have a bunch of fans, with likes over 999+, but those who can chat about positions late at night? Zero.

They immediately ask: "Can this MEME go up?" I reply, "I really don’t know," and they roll their eyes: "Are you pretending to be a master?"

But I really don’t know—reading white papers, running unlocking curves, scanning on-chain data, at the fastest, it takes a month; just shouting a target price? That's skipping rope, not analysis.

Relatives are even more ridiculous. I advise them, "Buy BTC first in a bull market," and they wave their hands: "Wait for my 0.0001 'Doge Mars' to break even first."

I can only smile bitterly—by the time they break even, Layer 2 will have upgraded to the third generation.

They recognize you as a master, but they want you to play by their low-level logic: only buy at low prices, only break even, and you can only shout sell when they want to sell, like a wife who can't drive but directs an experienced driver.

There was another time when ETH looked good, but the net inflow on exchanges surged by 800 million U. I urgently told a friend to liquidate.

The next day, he avoided a -18% loss and hasn't contacted me since, probably thinking I was insider trading;

Helping another friend double her SOL to escape the peak, she blamed me for selling 5% less and directly blocked me on social media.

Now when someone asks about coins, I uniformly reply: "I don’t understand, don’t ask."

It's not about being aloof; it's about saving trouble. It's better to stay silent than to speak, and it's better to block than to recommend—so I don't take the blame.

After seven years in the cryptocurrency world, my deepest realization is: learn to shut up to live longer. Want to follow steadily?

I only focus on BTC, ETH, SOL, making 1-3 spot + contract trades daily, writing stop-losses before discussing profits. Want to follow? First learn to be grateful.

Those who can survive and still earn in the market have always been the ones who dare to reach out first.
